Or-a- what? Orabona, its spelled just like its pronounced and boy do I spell my name a lot. Some time ago a friend suggested changing my name to Jerry O, that should certainly ease the confusion. Not a chance I still got, "huh, could you spell that?". However JerryO stuck. Fortunately for me my photographs speak for themselves; they are well done conceptual still lifes and portraits. I have been lucky enough to start working on projects before the concept is finalized. This allows me to be involved in the ideas development at an earlier stage. As you can see from my work I have thoughts that can be expressed using people or objects. If you have a project you would like to discuss you can call my agent Vicki Sander @ 212 420 1333. Nobody has trouble pronouncing her name. In addition to my commercial work I teach a course about alternative processes at the School of Visual Arts in NYC. And I'm currently looking for a publisher for a book about a long term documentary project. Since the late eighties Ive been photographing gas stations and the people that hang around them with any luck I should have the project ready for a publisher sometime this year. Acknowledgements: Id like to thank David Broom, Rita Dubas, Noel Voskiul, Aaron Usiskin and Terry Niefield for their insight and help in getting this site going. I would also like to recommend David Siegels book Creating Killer Web Sites saying that it was a huge help would be an understatement. |
